The first international conference ”Regenerative Surgery” held at Villa Mondragone from 10 to 11 December 2009, aims to focus on and disseminate the possible uses of stem cells in the surgical field and consisted of progressive sessions that starting from the biology of stem cells lies in their clinical applications in some systemic diseases, to tissue engineering and later to various surgical disciplines. The conference concluded with a session on ethics and the progress of science seen in the light of the current European regulatory system, and with a last session on the future of lipotransfer both in the surgery of face and neck and in the surgery of the body contour.
